Volunteer Spotlight
Helen
Brady

Helen
was born in Hong Kong and came to the United States when she
was twenty-one. She was a stay-at-home mom until her two children
were sixteen. Her grown son now lives in Australia while her
daughter lives in Los Angeles. As a flight attendant for many
years, she traveled and lived all around the world in such
wonderful places as Japan, Guam, the Philippines and Hawaii.
She retired ten years ago from Continental Airlines. Helen
and her husband, Dorsey, moved to Marietta three years ago
to be closer to family and she “loves it here!” Together,
they have five children and ten grandchildren.
Helen
has been active at West Cobb Senior Center where she volunteers
as a substitute teacher in Focus on Fitness and teaches the
strength training class on Tuesdays. She has earned a certificate
as an Adult Fitness Instructor and will graduate in November
with a Yoga Certification. Helen enjoys exercise and hopes
to continue leading exercise classes at West Cobb for a long
time.
Helen
loves to laugh and her favorite saying is, “Smell the roses
and have a good laugh.” Her enthusiasm for all types of exercise
is contagious. She has a wonderful volunteer spirit and gives
back to the community each and every week.
We
appreciate the many volunteer hours Helen has graciously given
to West Cobb and thank her for keeping seniors in great shape.
