Senior Day Center
The Senior Day Center offers programs designed to enhance the
quality of life for the dependent senior. With the County's
senior population expected to double by the year 2030 much needed
services have been developed by Cobb Senior Services to provide
assistance to older persons, their families and caregivers.
With daily operations in Marietta, GA, the program is a combination
of health and social services designed to:
- help prevent the premature placement
into long term care facilities;
- help mentally or physically impaired
adults maintain and/or improve their self esteem;
- offer participants opportunities
to socialize, enjoy peer support, and receive medical and
social services in a stimulating environment while sustaining
independence; and
- provide assistance to families and
caregivers who are responsible for an impaired older adult
requiring 24·hour care.
The support given at Senior Day Center
allows participants to preserve their precious independence
while providing beneficial respite to family members and caregivers.
Additional benefits include monetary savings for families and
taxpayers by delaying placement into a long-term facility.
