Registration Required

Payment for each class is due in full at the time of registration. Classes may not be taken on a pay as you go basis. Class payments by check or money order should be made payable to Cobb Senior Services. Telephone and mail in registrations cannot be accepted. 

All class and supply fees must be paid at the time of registration.  Telephone registration will not be accepted for fee-based classes.  Please take note of class meeting times, some classes may have pre-designated breaks.

Monday

Focus on Fitness

Instructor: Jane King

9:00 am – 10:00 am

Cost: Free

July 7 – September 29 (no class September 1)

You can build muscle at any age! Jane makes this class fun while leading chair aerobics,

Theraband and low-impact aerobics. Go at your own pace. Bring weights.

 

Open Play Table Tennis

10:15 am – 12:15 pm

Cost: Free

July 7 – September 29 (no class September 1)

All levels, 2 tables.

 

Advanced Line Dancing

Instructor: Sylvia Irvin

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Cost: $30 residents/$35 non-residents.

July 7 – September 15 (no class September 1)

Sylvia will keep you going! Have fun and exercise at the same time to country, soft-rock and pop music. Great fun and a great workout! For seniors with previous experience line dancing.

 

Tuesday

Beginner Line Dancing

Instructor: Sylvia Irvin

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Cost: $30.00 residents/$35.00 non-residents

July 9 – September 10

Sylvia will keep you going! Have fun and exercise at the same time to country, soft-rock and pop music. Learn basic steps like grapevine, shuffle, pivot and jazz box.

Thursday

 

Strength Training

Instructor: Dr. Carolyn Ballard

8:30 am – 9:30 am

Cost: Free

July 10 – October 2

Learn the benefits of strength training. You will be taught the proper form and technique to maximize your strength and build core muscles. It's never too late to benefit. Bring light hand weights to class.

Focus on Fitness

Instructor: Nora Justiniano

9:30 am – 10:30 am

Cost: Free

July 10 – October 2

You can build muscle at any age! Nora makes this class fun while leading chair aerobics, Thera-band and low-impact aerobics. You can go at your own pace. Bring weights.

 

Open Table Tennis

10:45 am – 12:15 pm

Cost: Free

Just come on by and join in the fun with other table tennis players. All levels, 2 tables.

   

Yogalates

Instructor: Carmen George

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Cost: $30.00 residents/ $35.00 non-residents

July 10 – September 11

Combining the stretching and exercises from Yoga with Pilates. Both emphasize correct breathing and attaining specific postures. Yogalates enhances flexibility, strengthens muscles and refreshes your mind and body. It is a near-perfect exercise for seniors! Bring a floor mat.

Friday

Forever Fit

Instructor: Carmen George

9:00 am – 10:00 am

Cost: $30.00 residents/$35.00 non-residents.

July 11 – September 12

Move to the music and get fit! Great exercise for seniors.

 

Paint for Fun

1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Cost: Free

On-going

Bring your materials and share painting techniques with others.

 



Cancellation Policy

Class cancellation for registered Seniors will be accepted prior to the class start date.  Cancellations made after this period may or may not be entitled to a full refund, and will be decided on an individual basis.  Any supply fees paid, may not be refunded.  Classes that are not held on a regular class meeting date due to inclement weather, holiday schedules, or instructor illness will be made up. 


INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event of a severe storm or inclement weather, the Center will be closed in accordance with Cobb County School System media announcements.
