Mattie's
Call in Cobb County
On
February 14, 2006, Cobb County Board of Commissioners unanimously
voted to adopt Mattie's Call as standard operating procedure
in the event an elderly person with Alzheimer's or other form
of dementia wanders away from their home. Cobb is the
first county in the state of Georgia to adopt the Mattie's
Call alert system. Cobb Senior Services, Cobb County
Sheriff, Cobb County Police, Cobb's cities, and other agencies
will work with the Georgia Chapter of Alzheimer's Association
to implement procedures for alerting the media and public
about a missing elderly person with Alzheimer's or dementia.
